Save Time And Money By Getting Groceries Delivered To Your Door

Get groceries delivered to your door, and there’s no need to visit the store. Which delivery services are the best? Keep reading to find out.

Think of all the investment involved with going to the grocery store. First, you need to gas up your car to get there. Second, you need to waste that gas as you sit in traffic. Third, you must spend tons of time walking through crowds and going from aisle to aisle. Last, but not least, you have to haul it all home.

Yes, grocery store shopping is a massive chore that many of us wish we could avoid. But thanks to several delivery services, you can completely avoid it and save time and money in the process.

Here are some of your top home delivery options. Visit their sites to get a closer look at how they operate so that you can make the right choice for your shopping needs. Some even offer a free trial:

Postmates

If you live in a big city and want groceries without leaving your couch, give Postmates a look. The Postmates Unlimited service offers free delivery on orders over $15 for a fee of just under $100 per year. If you’re not an Unlimited member, you’ll pay $2.99 per delivery.

You can give Postmates a try via a 7-day free trial.

Instacart

You can access over 300 retailers via Instacart across all 50 states. While many claim Instacart’s prices are higher than what you’d pay by making the trip yourself, keep in mind your savings. There’s no gas cost involved, and you save time.

Instacart charges $3.99 per delivery of $35 or more. You can also sign up for the Instacart Express membership which costs $99 annually. It offers the benefit of free deliveries on orders of $35 or more.

Amazon Prime Now

Do you have an Amazon Prime membership? While you probably enjoy its fast and free 2-day shipping plus the movie and music perks, you can use it for grocery delivery too.

Amazon Prime Now lets Prime members enjoy groceries to their door at favorable prices. Many of the product offerings are tied to Whole Foods Market, which could be a good or bad thing depending on personal preference.

Orders via Prime Now are free over $35 and can be expected within a 2-hour window. If your order costs less, you’ll have to pay $4.99 for the convenience.

FreshDirect

While Instacart and Prime Now have a personal shopper purchase your items right from the grocery store, FreshDirect uses a warehouse for delivery. Does eliminating a personal shopper from the equation yield extra savings? Not necessarily, so keep that in mind.

A DeliveryPass membership to FreshDirect costs $129 per year, which gets you unlimited free delivery. Non-members must pay $5.99 to $7.99 per shipment, depending on location.

FreshDirect comes with a couple of restrictions. Although the $30 minimum orders aren’t too different from other delivery companies, the time you’ll have to wait is. Delivery windows often begin on the following day, so if you need your items quickly, FreshDirect may not be your best bet.
